Seggiano’s Vegan Artisan Sourdough Easter Colomba is a perfect centrepiece for your Easter table. This traditional dove-shaped Italian bake (Colomba means “dove”) is enjoyed at Easter as a symbol of hope, peace, and renewal. Naturally leavened with a 30-year-old mother yeast and made the traditional way by a family bakery, each Colomba takes 36 hours to create, though it won’t last long once served!
Although labelled a cake, it has a rich, enriched bread-like texture similar to Panettone, made with cocoa butter, candied fruits, natural vanilla, and turmeric for fragrance, moisture, and colour. It’s GMO-free with full traceability, and contains no industrial additives or trans-fat emulsifiers. Finished with a crunchy hazelnut glaze and whole almonds, it’s delicious sliced at room temperature, lightly toasted with vegan butter, dunked into coffee, or even turned into vegan bread and butter pudding or French toast.
