This is really tasty and a good standby to have in your food cupboard.
Absolutely love these. I've learnt now how to cook them properly and it's a game changer! Boil in stock for15 min and marinade overnight in the fridge, then coat in cornflour and fry. They are fantastic! Great in a stirfry or in a pitta with salad,however you liked.. Just needed a larger packet!
I have tried many vegan cheeses in the search for one that satisfies me when I am missing mature cheddar. This cheese has the best taste when you eat it straight from the pack, and when melted, and is very more-ish. I can easily eat a whole pack at once and still want more. In sandwiches it is delicious and I love a slice of this cheese melted on top of a vegan sausage roll, in a toastie, as cheese on toast, and meted on other foods.
When melted it tends to more or less keep it's shape, rather than run everywhere. This Violife MATURE Cheddar is a huge improvement on Violife Cheddar, which I am not keen on at all. Even if you do not like Violife's Cheddar, this mature cheddar is such a hugely improved taste on that product, that you should definitely try it so you don't miss out on it's lovely taste. Even if you do not think it tastes exactly like the mature cheddar you remember, its taste is so delicious that you will be quickly addicted.
When you eat straight from the pack, you may be disappointed at first by the lack of flavour in your mouth, but be patient and once chewed up, the delicious flavour will come, and you will be left with such an amazing taste that you will want more and more.
I am not a fan of the majority of vegan chocolate products, but this, along with Love Raw Chocolate Nutty Balls and the sadly discontinued Vegan Blond bar from Aldi, is my absolute favourite. Although not tasting exactly like Snickers. they are the nearest by far I have come across - and I have tried many and been disappointed. A lot of vegan chocolate bars fail to match the sweetness level of non-vegan ones, but this chocolate bar matches the sweetness of snickers, and are very VERY more-ish. I could eat ten in a row and still want more. My father in law got me twenty bars for Christmas and I was over the moon...I think he was shocked at how quickly I ate them all. If you like chocolate bars that are as sweet as the non-vegan ones such as Snickers, Twix, Topic, etc, this is a must for you to try. If there was anything I could change about the flavour, it would be for the caramel to taste a bit more on the butter-scotch side than it does. Then it would be just like Snickers. Obviously I also wish they were much bigger, and cheaper too, as then I could afford more : )
I would also love Buttermilk to expand their range to do a similar bar to Twix, with sweet shortbread and caramel.
Delicious , nutritious and vegan . Simply heat and eat . Perfect
These are gorgeous fry in olive oil place them in small chunks or slices season without black pepper garlic granules and turmeric make sure you stay with them turning them regular till crispy yummy I will buy again can also add whatever seasoning you LOVE 💕
